Heated Curing Blanket 1.5mtr x 7mtr
In stock
Heated Curing Blanket 1.5mtr x 7mtr.
This heated blanket is used to warm concrete evenly during the curing process as a protective measure against cold weather conditions.
This Heated blanket allow you to maintain hydration and successfully work through winter. The design eliminates cold spots by applying a uniform coverage of heat across the entire surface of the blanket. This Heated Blanket can also be used to thaw the ground before pouring concrete and again after finishing for freeze protection.
This is an off the shelf product size which is an insulated, water-resistant design. This blanket is certified to UKCA and CE safety standards.
Please ensure that the Heated Curing Blanket is fully rolled out before switching on.
We can produce Heated Curing Blankets to different sizes to your specifications please get in contact and we can discuss options and advise on lead times.
In cold / frosty or snow covered conditions concrete jobs can go catasthropically wrong if the slabs are not sufficiently protected. We would advise a good investment in regards to the heated heated blankets which offer the insulation required to prevent cracking which will weaken concrete.
What does "concrete curing" mean?
Great care must be taken while curing concrete to ensure maximum concrete strength and durability. It's one of the most important steps in concrete construction. Concrete hardens when hydration (the chemical reaction between cement and water) takes place. It is important that fresh concrete stays within a specific temperature range during the concrete curing process in order for hydration to occur during the 5-7 days that follow pouring.
Does temperature have an effect on new concrete?
Yes, extremely cold weather will bring the curing process to a halt because the water will not be reacting with the cement. The general rule of thumb is that new concrete should be maintained above 11 degrees celcius for the entire curing process.
Why does concrete crack?
Just like any other substance, concrete expands when it dries out. If the drying takes place too quickly or under excessive heat, the structural integrity of the compound will be comrpomised. It is for this reason that contractors put spaces between slabs of concrete allowing for the natural expansion. On the other hand, cold weather can also result in cracked concrete. By using Heated Curing Blankets, you maintain optimum PSI levels in concrete while it cures, eliminating many of these problems.

Speedcrete heated blankets encorporate a heat spreading technology that utilizes electricity and materials to warm concrete evenly during the curing process, resulting in a rock-hard, crack-free finish. For use in both warm and cold weather climates to protect concrete from rapid drying, freezing and cracking. The heated curing blankets help retain moisture in wet curing and brings it to the desired strength quickly and efficiently. These electric concrete curing blankets can achieve a compressive strength in concrete of 4300 psi in only 9 hours with no cracking or defects. The net result is a better finish and higher quality product for the customer.
Power
Important power note:
This Heat Blanket will draw 3000 watts of power at 110 volt which would use 75% of a 5KVA Transformer output of 4000 watts. This means it would be unsuitable to run two blankets off one 5KVA Transformer.
